Hello A3D Product user,
To help you resolve any problems you may be having
installing or configuring the Assassin 3D, we have set up the
following Step by Step Guide. Follow the steps, if you have any
problems check out the links.
1.) Turn off your computer and plug the Assassin 3D into your gameport. Then plug your favorite joystick into the Assassin 3D. More info on the cables and plugs
2.) Turn on your computer and install the software. The software uses the Install Shield technology to insure the easiest installation and uninstallation possible. If you get any error messages during installation please download a new copy of the latest version. First Time Installation ? You will need to Reboot your computer at the end of the installation process.
3.) Perform the DOS Calibration and Test. If you don't understand what is happening during the test, check out Dos Calibration and Test Page If you get any errors please see Error Messages from DOS Test.
4.) Calibrate your setup in the Joystick Applett located in the Control Panel. For help finding and using the joystick applett Click Here. Check these links to see what to do if there is No Joystick Icon or if you have Gaming Devices instead of a Joystick icon. Check this link if you are getting a Joystick Not Connected Message
Note: The new DirectX 5 calls the joystick icon "Game Controllers".
That's all there is to Setting up the Assassin 3D on your computer.
Please see Game Setups for instructions on setting up the supported games.
If you are having problems with a particular game you can usually find the answer on that games, setup page. There are however a few things to keep in mind...1.) Many of the supported games are DOS based and do not actually use the standard joystick configuration. While in the game you may notice that if you use the games setup screen to configure buttons and such, that it doesn't seem to work, this is normal. You will need to either use the DOS - Games Configuration Utility or manually edit the game's ini file. See DOS Button Assignments for help manually editing the game's ini file.
2.) If you are having any problems with the DOS Games Configuration Utility, please check out Errors from the Dos Games Configuration.
We seem to see a lot of people that will forget to set up the Win95 Joystick applett ( Game Controllers) for their joystick before playing the Win95 based games. Please see Calibrating for Win95.
The DOS Games Configuration Utility needs a couple of files that may not be on your system. If nothing happens when you try to run a program or you get an error message, write down the error and check out Errors from the Dos Games Configuration.
Choppy Sound and or Movement. Usually a Sound Card problem, please see Game Port Incompatibilities
