I have the Monster Sound card and I get a
Not Connected message.
This has been fixed with the Version 4 Drivers.
Does the Assassin
3D Or Panther XL work with the new PCI A3D Cards?
Yes, if you have the latest Version 4 Drivers.
Does the Assassin
3D or Panther work with the Microsoft Precision Pro?
No, The Assassin 3D and Panther both
require an analog Joystick. Since this joystick does
not have any analog output it will not work with the
A3D Digital Technology.
Will the Assassin
3D work on my Linux system ?
Yes, with many thanks to Vojtech
Pavlik who says,,, the joystick-1.2.8
package that was released by me a couple days ago has
full A3D device support. You can get it at:
ftp://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz
/pub/linux/joystick/
Or read about it at: http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz
/~vojtech/joystick/
It is also referenced at: http://www.linuxgames.com/
and http://www.freshmeat.net/
Will the Assassin
3D work on my NT 4.0 system ?
Not at the
present time, NT 4 and 5 have some Direct Input
support but does not come with a default Joystick
applett. When Microsoft makes a Joystick applett we
will modify our Direct Input drivers to allow the
FPgaming Technology products to function. Please
contact Developer
Relations if
you would be interested in writing a Joystick Applett
for Windows NT 5.
I'm getting a
message that says my joystick is not connected correctly,
What can I do ?
Check out the Errors
from the Win95 Joystick Applett
Does the Assassin 3D work with
driving/flying simulators and other Direct Input Games ?
The A3D will work with any Direct Input game.
However, we have found that most game manufacturers
either don't think that the extra axes are important
or just don't know to add them to the games
configuration menus.
If the game you want to try is not on the Supported Games
List you can try setting it up by
assigning commands to Axes 5 (left/right) and Axes 6
(Down/Up) Usually you will need to make these
controls relative (if offered) and the Axes 6
reversed. If you do not have a Throttle or Rudder you
can usually assign commands to those and the
Trackball will simulate the actions.
I have no joystick
icon.
If you have installed DirectX 5 your
Joystick will now be called Game Controllers.
Check out the Calibrating
your Joystick page for more details
and solutions.
After several
minutes of play on whatever game (I tried both Quake and
Descent 2), the Assassin 3D would stop working and the
sound would stop working, What can I do?
This is a Sound Card that is
incompatible with the Direct Input Digital signal.
You will need to get either a new sound card (Sound
Blaster works great (not a clone)) or a new Gameport
(CH Products Gameport 3 Automatic is a good choice
(force set at 15)). To find out for sure check out
the Gameport
Diagnostics section.

I Installed the Windows 95 Drivers and
Win Quake and now my game character just scrolls to the
left.
This is usually
seen when the unit needs to be calibrated. Please see
Calibrating in
Windows 95. It
can also happen if your Deadzone is too small for the
joystick you are using. Please see Button
Reconfiguration
and Deadzone information.
My gameplay is
slower with the Assassin 3D than with the Keyboard, What
can I do ?
You just need to set up the game
speeds. The Slow
Gameplay page will help you do this.
I was looking for
a list of your files, Where can I find it ?
Something new here for the FPgaming
Web Site, The Allfiles
list for the FPgaming Web Site.
I set up WinQuake
and I see "FPgaming Assassin 3D configured" but
the assassin still doesn't work?
WinQuake ships with the Joystick
disabled, to enable it, bring up the console using
the tilde and type in "joystick
1". You will only need to do this one
time as it will be saved in your CONFIG.CFG file
automatically.
Can I play games
on KALI ?
Yes, Click Here
to get everything you need for playing your favorite
games on the Kali Network.
Can you give me a quick summary
of button reconfiguration ?
All buttons (Assassin 3D and joystick) are
configurable for each game. And, a default
configuration is supplied with each game. For
complete information see the Button
Reconfiguration section.
How easy is it to move the
Assassin 3D from one PC to another?
Assassin 3D can be moved from one PC to the other
quite easily, it just hooks up to the joystick port.
You will need to install the Drivers on both PCs and
you may also transfer any configuration information
for buttons etc, or choose to have custom
configuration for each PC. You can assign the buttons
as you wish, through the configuration file.
Instructions are available in the Online Manual.
How do I create Windows 95
shortcuts so that the Assassin 3D works ?
Many of the games supported by the Assassin 3D can
be launched from Windows 95 or from DOS. Creating a
shortcut in Windows 95 allows you to enter the
details one time and then forget about them. Here are two example
shortcuts (Quake and Quake with Qlaunch)
Can the Assassin 3D also
operate as a Trackball for windows and other mouse
functions.
We now have the Amouse program that will allow
your Assassin 3D to be act as a mouse pointer.
Click
Here to download it. We recommend
that you save it in your C:\fpgaming directory.
The Assassin 3D works fine in
DOS but not WIN95 in my dual boot system.
See Setting up a
Dual Boot System.
