GlQuake and WinQuake now support the
Assassin 3D, here is what you need to do to get it to work.
exec adva3d.cfg
Notes:
1.) If you do not have an autoexec.cfg file or, if you renamed your old assassin.cfg to autoexec.cfg and plan on using only the new GLQuake. You can rename the adva3d.cfg to autoexec.cfg and it will execute automatically. You can also add the line exec adva3d.cfg to your autoexec.cfg file so that it gets executed automaticaly (recommended).
2.) WinQuake comes with the joystick disabled. If your joystick does not seem to work, bring up the console and type joystick 1 to enable it.
3.) Click Here to read the wqreadme.txt (WinQuake Read Me Text) file from Blues News.
4.) If you have any problems setting up GLQuake or WinQuake please read through the Quake FAQ's and the Quake World Faqs file.
5.) For help configuring your Joystick Speeds and Sensitivity settings refer to the Advanced Joystick Information Page.
6.) You will need to edit your adva3d.cfg file to set up your button configs.
Easy to follow step by step directions...
1.) Install WinQuake or GLQuake.
2.) Copy the adva3d.cfg file to the ID1 directory.
3.) Edit the autoexec.cfg and add the line exec adva3d.cfg.
4.) Verify that your FPgaming Assassin 3D & joystick are setup and calibrated in the Win95 Joystick Applett.
5.) Start the game by running WinQuake.exe or GLQuake.exe.
6.) When the game is loading you will see a message that says "execing autoexec.cfg". Then you should see a message that says "FPgaming Assassin 3D Configured". This tells you that the Assassin 3D configuration information has been loaded.
7.) Start a new game and you should be up and going !
