Verify that you have installed the software. You should be able to find a FPGAMING or Madcatz directory/folder located on your C: Drive. If you look into the Control Panel Applett called "Add Remove Programs" you should see a listing for the FPgaming Assassin 3D Drivers or Madcatz Panther or PantherXL Digital Drivers.
It is possible that you may have too many Joystick drivers installed, Microsoft has limited it to 16 at any one time. You can either remove (using Add Remove Programs) an old joystick driver that you are not using or manually delete it from the System Registry.
Follow the steps below to manually remove unused joystick drivers from the system registry. Note: You should check into the Add Remove Programs to see if you have any options that can be removed using that method first.
- Click Start, followed by Run. Type in regedit and click OK. This will open the System Regestry.
- You will need to click the plus signs next to the following items to open up the branch where we need to look.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, System, CurrentControlSet, control, MediaProperties, PrivateProperties, Joystick, OEM.You should see a list of the installed Joystick Drivers on your system. You can hi-light them one at a time by clicking on the joystick name. Let's say for instance that you have the following list.
CH_1
CH_2
CH_3
F16CombatStick
GravisGamepad
LogitechThunderpad
LogitechWingMan
LogitechWingManExtreme
LogitechWingManLight
FPgamingA3DCH
FPgamingA3DNO
FPgamingA3DTM
FPgamingA3DGN
Plus a bunch of others.......If you do not own any Logitech or CH Joysticks you could hi-light them one at a time and tap the delete key. You will be asked "Are you are sure?" Click Yes. When you have less that 16 options you should be able to close everything, reboot and be ready to go with the FPgaming options showing up again.
