      Tricks and Tips

      1. Practice with the Turn Around button. Since this button operates instantaneously, it is disorienting at first. On the other hand, it is a wicked, wicked feature.
      2. Place the Open Door button very close to the Turn Around button and practice hitting Open Door and Turn Around very close together. This will minimize the time spent pushing buttons with your back exposed.
      3. Practice moving full-speed forward, flipping 180 degrees and simultaneously switching to moving full-speed backward. This is a very effective technique when you are being chased. The effect is that you become a hunter instead of the hunted. And, at the same time, you are still moving full-speed away from your opponent. Surprise!
      4. Program all your favorite weapons and practice selecting them. Avoid using the keyboard to change weapons. This typically takes your eyes off the screen and makes you vulnerable. The shotgun is a nice weapon to have easily available.
      5. In Doom II you can switch between the shotgun and the double-barrel shotgun. Just press the Shotgun button.
      6. The Assassin 3D's ability to quickly and accurately turn is much better than most other input devices. This is very effective in close combat. One sweet technique is to storm your opponent (firing on the way) and as you pass by, quickly turn and shoot him in the back.
      7. Practice with toggling the speed settings. One quick flick on the throttle or button press can slow down the action for allowing very tight traversing. Then the next moment, you can be back to high-speed death-trolling.
