Normally this is caused by renaming the file and ending up with either an extra extension "adva3d.cfg.cfg" or "autoexec.cfg.cfg". or...
This can also happen when you use notepad to edit the file. When using notepad and choosing SaveAs to save the file with a different name, it will try to attach the extension "txt" to it's file. this can result in something like the following "autoexec.cfg.txt"
These files will need to be renamed back to the desired name. If the file looks correct when you are using Windows Explorer, you may need to turn on Filename Extensions. Using Windows Explorer click on View then Options. You will see an option that says "Hide MS-DOS file extensions for file types that are registered" you will need to uncheck this box.
Now you should see the double extensions. Either single click the filename to edit it, or choose File and click on Rename.
