Your A3D product is loaded with features all designed to maximize your quality of game play.
The most obvious feature of the A3D products is that they are designed for two-handed game play. Now both hands are intimately involved. With one hand controlling the Controlball and the other controlling the Joystick, you will be able to maneuver in your gaming environment like never before. And, since both hands can be moving simultaneously, actions such as circling your opponent and continuously firing become trivial to perform.
The A3D product Controlball provides for full 360 degree viewing left/right as well as full 360 degree viewing up/down. This Controlball allows you to instantly look in the direction the you desire - just as if your eyes were moving. Controlling both directions can be used simultaneously. This feature easily allows, for instance, to look up behind you.
The Joystick can be any joystick or the included Flight Stick on the PantherXL. All standard joysticks are supported as well as joysticks with special features; such as the Microsoft Joysticks, the Logitech Joysticks, the CH Products joysticks and the ThrustMaster joysticks. The joystick signals are digitized and filtered by the Assassin 3D and Panther to allow for much more precision than you have previously received from your joystick. The joystick controls all movement within your game. Moving the joystick forward and backwards, moves the game character/vessel forward and backwards. Moving the joystick left and right, moves the game character/vessel left and right. And, the movement is more than just stopped, walk and run. With most games, over 100 movement speeds are provided. This allows you to easily creep along narrow ledges or run full speed after your quarry in any direction you desire.
Between the Controlball and the Joystick, up to 17 buttons are supported. All of these buttons are programmable per game. This feature allows you to customize your setup and keep your focus within the gaming environment. In almost all cases, you will never have to look down at your keyboard again. This means that during a hot-and-heavy deathmatch you will never need to look away from your opponents!
The A3D products also support a joystick rudder and a joystick throttle. These two controls are also digitized and filtered. If you have these optional pieces of equipment, they can be configured and used; depending on the game. The PantherXL has a built in throttle control and a connector for external rudder pedals.
Internal to the A3D products, there is an integrated micro-controller. This micro-controller is constantly monitoring the trackball, joystick and buttons - up to 10,000 times per second. This information is then collected for sending to your computer. This feature provides for highly responsive game play. You will never again feel like your controller is stuck in the mud and moving slower than you are.
Lastly, the A3D product communicates digitally to your host computer via a standard gameport. All Controlball and Joystick information is digitized before it is sent to your computer. This provides several benefits. First, more information is being sent to the computer than was ever before possible. Secondly, this information is being sent to the computer faster than the traditional joystick analog information. Basically, the digital gameport provides a faster and more powerful communication path to your computer.
